I find looping, repetative music really soothing. Like when websites have a little sound clip running in the backround non-stop. The drone sets a nice rythem. Office depot had this quirky tune running on repeat on an in store kiosk for sirrius radio. Very trance inducting. maybe the overtones that are created make you buy more.

These nouns refer to what one plans to do or achieve. Intention simply signifies a course of action that one proposes to follow: It is my intention to take a vacation next month. Purpose strengthens the idea of resolution or determination: “His purpose was to discover how long these guests intended to stay” (Joseph Conrad). Goal may suggest an idealistic or long-term purpose: The college's goal was to raise ten million dollars for a new library. I stumbled across this book yesterday at Barnes and Noble and looked up what my destiny, or Karmic Path as they call it is. It is "Intention". What this means is that my goal, or path this time around is to learn how to follow through with a plan and not get side-tracked in simple diversions. Oh, so funny.

It's become painfully obvious this is the case. The events of the past month have been one of those "wacky" reminders the universe (God, if you're so inclined) throws at you to keep one on track. Keep on track. Keep on track.

Sick Day # 2

Lets hear it for strep throat. Fucking awsome. You know it's bad when the doctor and nurse are like "DAMN" when they look into your throat.

Last night I returned to Medicus exactly one month from when I first went there for my horrible sore throat. This time, the rapid strep test came up positive. I think they missed it last time. Hopefully this will be the LAST TIME I will get sick, ever!

This ordeal makes me wish I had health insuranse. It also may turn me into some kind of germaphobe, washing my hands every 5 minutes.

I'm going to make the rest of today a productive one. Yesterday I sat around and slept, hoping this sickness would go away, until I gave up and went to the doctor.

I can't wait to take my next dose of anti-biotics, YES!

Hellovision is Live

Born and raised in Cornwall, NY Karen Kuslansky began her artistic studies as a high school fine art student participating in programs such as Saturday Live at the Fashion Institute of Technology as well as the New York State Summer School for the Arts at Fredonia University. After graduating high school in 1994 she went on to study at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design where she was introduced to the field of film and video. It was here that a budding interest in both metaphysics and mysticism developed into a near obsession, from which was born the philosophical basis of all that Karen creates. This was most immediately apparent in her student films, which were intimate and highly cerebral as she dealt with abstract notions of time and space as well as her own existence in the world.

Always striving to transcend the parameters with which her medium is comprised, Karen became increasingly dissatisfied with the pace of analogue film and video. In the summer of 1996 she enrolled in The School of Visual Arts computer art program focusing primarily on digital fine art. With an ability that far exceeded that of her fellow students Karen was quickly recognized with accomplishments such as her acceptance into the 8th annual NY Digital Salon in 1999. Her video Cromagnonmus was the sole undergraduate work included in the salon that year. Her piece also received mention in the Fall 2000 issue of Leonardo Magazine. Other recognitions include 2002 Digitalis II The Spiritual in Digital Art at the Evergreen Cultural Center British Columbia as well as participation in the 2003 Analog & Digital Art Group Show at the Van Brunt Gallery in Beacon, NY.

After nine years working in new media, Karen's reservoir of creativity seems endless. She has created +helloVISION+ a company that showcases both her fine art as well as her innovative graphic design services. Her digital art is now represented by POD Gallery in New York City as her dedicated following grows. She also contributes written work to New York North Arts & rhizome.org online art reviews.
